They’re rich, chocolatey, packed with mini marshmallows and oreos! Shaped like little chocolate coffins, these rocky road bars are the ultimate treat for Halloween parties, movie nights, or even after pumpkin carving.

Perfect for when you want something indulgent but super simple to make.

Why You’ll Love These No-Bake Rocky Road Bars

  • Skip the oven and no-bake! Everything melts together in one microwave-safe bowl or small saucepan.
  • A Perfect Halloween treat. The coffin shape makes them a spooky showstopper on any dessert table.
  • Layers of dark chocolate, crushed biscuits, and pillowy mini marshmallows for that chewy-meets-crunchy bite.
  • Use milk, dark, or white chocolate on top and mix it up with edible glitter or icing crosses for extra spooky vibes.
  • Super easy to make, easy to grab, and a total hit at Halloween gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 7 whole digestive biscuits
  • 5 whole Oreos
  • 1 cup mini marshmallows
  • 200g milk chocolate
  • 100g butter
  • 3 tbsp maple syrup
  • Extra dark or milk chocolate, melted (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Place the digestive biscuits and Oreos into a bowl and crush them gently with a rolling pin. Leave a few larger chunks for texture.
  2. In a large bowl, mix the crushed biscuits with the mini marshmallows. Set aside.
  3. Add the milk chocolate and butter to a microwave-safe bowl (or a small saucepan over low heat). Stir until melted and smooth. Or heat in 20 second bursts in the microwave and stir each time.
  4. Once the chocolate and butter is melted, add the maple syrup and stir.
  5. Pour the melted chocolate mixture over the biscuit mixture and stir until fully coated.
  6. Line a prepared pan or baking tray with parchment paper or wax paper. Press the rocky road mixture evenly into the bottom of the pan.
  7. Place in the fridge for around 1 hour until set.
  8. Add the spooky toppings. Melt some dark chocolate and spread it evenly across the top for a sleek finish (the darker the chocolate, the spookier it looks!).
  9. Refrigerate again and once set, use a coffin-shaped cookie cutter to cut out each bar. Decorate with icing crosses or a drizzle of white chocolate for that graveyard effect.

Tips for the Best No-Bake Rocky Road Bars

  • Use room temperature ingredients when possible as it helps everything mix evenly.
  • For extra crunch, mix in some rice cereal, graham crackers, or even crushed rice cakes.
  • Add peanut butter or butterscotch chips for a twist. They melt beautifully with the chocolate.
  • Line your tray properly with parchment paper or wax paper so the bars lift out easily.

Storage

Store the rocky road coffins in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 5 days. They can also be frozen, just layer with parchment paper and thaw at room temperature before serving.

Serving Ideas

Serve these at Halloween parties, school events, or as part of a Halloween dessert table alongside other spooky sweets. You can even package them up as edible gifts using a little ribbon and label. I have crushed oreo biscuits for a soil effect which I love.
