White Chocolate Rice Krispie Squares

This homemade rice krispie treats are the best rice krispie recipe. They are soft, chewy and loaded with marshmallows. This is a take on the classic snack bar without all the additives you get with shop bought snacks. Plus they are delicious! This classic snack comes together in minutes, you won't be disappointed.

Ingredients
  

  • 3 tbsp salted butter unsalted works too
  • 30 regular marshmallows white or pink
  • 5 cups rice krispies

Equipment

  • 1 Large pan
  • 1 Spatula or large spoon
  • 1 Baking dish I use 9x9 but 9x13 works too
  • 1 Baking sheet/parchment paper

Method
 

  1. Melt butter in a very large pot over medium-low heat until the butter melts completely
  2. Add the marshmallows and stir constantly over medium heat until fully melted
  3. Quickly fold in the crispy rice cereal until coated in the cereal mixture
  4. Transfer to a prepared pan (sprayed with cooking spray or lined with parchment paper)
  5. Press mixture gently with a buttered spatula into an even layer at the bottom of the pan
  6. Let cool at room temperature before slicing into squares
  7. If you add melted chocolate to the top, place in fridge for 1 hour until chocolate has cooled
  8. Keep in airtight container for up to 3 days

Notes

  • Slice into Rice Krispie squares and enjoy immediately for that soft, gooey texture.
  • For longer storage, wrap each piece in parchment or plastic wrap and keep in an airtight container.
  • These crispy rice treats are a great addition to lunchboxes, bake sales, or holiday cookie trays.
