Valentine's Rice Krispie Treats

Soft, gooey Valentine’s Rice Krispie Treats made with marshmallows and crispy cereal, then cut into hearts and decorated with candy melts or chocolate. A quick, no-bake Valentine’s Day treat that’s perfect for sharing.
Servings: 10 small hearts

Ingredients

  • 3 tbsp butter
  • 200 g marshmallows
  • 4 cups rice krispies
  • 100 g white chocolate
  • 1 bag pink/red candy of your choice

Equipment

  • 1 medium sized pan
  • 1 mixing spoon
  • 1 baking pan I use 9x9
  • 1 parchment paper
  • 1 heart shaped cookie cutter size depends on how many hearts you want to make

Method

  1. Line a square tin with parchment paper or wax paper and set aside. I use 9x9
  2. In a large saucepan, melt the butter over medium-low heat
  3. Once melted add the marshmallows, stirring gently until smooth
  4. Remove from heat and quickly fold in the rice krispies cereal until fully coated. This cereal mixture should look glossy and evenly combined
  5. Transfer to the prepared tin. Lightly grease your hands or use plastic wrap to gently press the mixture down (don’t compact it too much or you’ll lose that soft texture)
  6. Let cool at room temperature.Once set, lift out and cut using a heart-shaped cookie cutter
  7. Melt white chocolate in a microwavable bowl and heat in bursts of 30 seconds
  8. Dip, drizzle, or decorate with candy or sprinkles
  9. Place on parchment paper to set
