- Slice each sweet date lengthwise with a sharp knife and remove the pit
- Arrange them in a single layer on a parchment-lined baking sheet
- Add a layer of creamy peanut butter over the dates and smooth it out so it covers the date layer evenly
- If you're not using crunchy peanut butter, sprinkle chopped peanuts on top of the peanut butter layer for that signature chewy texture and nutty flavours
- In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the dark chocolate chips with coconut oil
- Heat in short intervals (15–20 second increments) until smooth, stirring each time
- Pour or spoon the melted chocolate over the dates until fully coated
- Smooth out the top of the chocolate layer with the back of the spoon
- Before the chocolate sets, add a sprinkle of flaky sea salt and chopped peanuts to the top
- Place the tray in the fridge for 15–20 minutes until the chocolate hardens
- Cut into smaller pieces if you like
