Simple Granola Recipe

A simple granola recipe made with wholesome ingredients, naturally sweetened with real maple syrup, and baked to golden brown perfection. This easy homemade granola recipe creates delicious granola clusters and is perfect for breakfast, snacking, or topping your favourite bowls.

Ingredients
  

Dry Ingredients
  • 3 cups rolled oats
  • 1/4 cup desiccated coconut
  • 1 pinch salt
Wet Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup real maple syrup
  • 1/2 cup peanut butter or almond butter
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter melted/ or melted coconut oil
  • 1 tbsp vanilla extract
Add ins
  • 1/2 cup dried fruit raisins, golden raisins, cranberries etc
  • 1/2 cup mixed nuts cashew, peanuts, pistachios etc
  • 1/2 cup seeds pumpkin seeds, coconut flakes etc
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips optional

Equipment

  • 1 baking tray
  • 1 baking paper
  • 1 measuring cups
  • 1 large mixing bowl
  • 1 medium mixing bowl
  • 1 large mixing spoon

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to a low temperature (around 165°C fan).
  2. Line a prepared baking sheet or sheet pan with parchment paper.
  3. In a large bowl, mix all your dry ingredients together.In a medium bowl, whisk together the wet ingredients to create a smooth syrup mixture.
  4. Pour the wet mixture over the oat mixture and stir until everything is well coated.
  5. Spread the granola mixture onto the tray in an even layer (this is key for granola clusters).Press it down slightly to help create larger pieces and clumpy granola.
  6. Bake on medium heat for 20–25 minutes until golden brown.
  7. Let the granola cool completely but don’t stir! This is how you get those nutty clusters.
  8. Once cooled granola is ready, break it up and add your favourite mix-ins like dried fruit or chocolate chips.
